Over time, your car’s paint will naturally gather some minor defects from daily use. However, there are certain actions that will accelerate that process!
Automatic car washes - Even washes labeled “soft touch” are too aggressive to properly wash your paint without causing swirls. These machines are also rarely cleaned between dirty cars!
-Proper Hand Washing is the best way to clean your car-
Improper polishing - Dealerships will often try to “shine up” a used vehicle or even a new vehicle before sale and perform a very quick polish with a rotary polisher leaving a “hologram” effect in the paint.
-Dual Action Polishers will give you a much clearer finish in your paint.-
Improper hand washing/drying - Using too aggressive of a wash media (harsh sponges/Brillo pads/brushes) and drying your paint with too aggressive of a drying towel (cotton or bath towel/rag) will cause swirls to accumulate faster than normal.
-Quality microfiber towels and drying aids are the best way to properly dry you car.-
-Microfiber mitts and sponges are a safe wash media for your paint.-
