Ever since the pandemic, people are starting to clean their vehicles more. However, not everyone knows the correct way to clean the different areas of their car, specifically leather.
Here are a few tips to avoid causing any damage when cleaning your leather:
DO NOT use Clorox wipes - the chemicals can stain, fade, and dry out your leather.
DO NOT use baby wipes - it’s a common misnomer that baby wipes are safe because of the name, but the alcohol and other chemicals can dry out your leather.
DO NOT use Windex or other glass cleaners - (especially cleaners with ammonia) the chemicals can stain and dry out your leather.
DO NOT use any abrasives - this includes magic erasers and polishes that will abrade away the protective clear coat on your leather.
DO NOT use heavy degreasers - the high pH chemicals will stain and dry out your leather.
It’s always best to use a dedicated leather cleaner for safely taking care of your leather!
However, in a pinch, a damp microfiber rag with water will clean most messes in a timely manner.
