This 2021 Nissan Rogue Sport was delivered with less than 5000 miles on the odometer and would likely be acceptable to the average person if they stood back about 10 feet, but we don’t do average here at Boss Auto Detailing.
Upon closer inspection, there was plenty of leftover adhesive, water spots, swirls, and isolated deep scratches.
In order to restore gloss and clarity back to the metallic-black paint, it was decided to perform a basic paint enhancement. This would remove the light wash marring and leave plenty of protective clear coat intact, while also laying down a 3-month paint sealant.
Besides the isolated deep scratches, the paint was in fair condition and seemed to correct fairly easy based on a test spot with my 3-inch pad and polish combo.
The leftover glue was removed with an adhesive remover after washing the vehicle with a rinseless wash solution and before polishing the paint.
The isolated scratches were polished for improvement and not complete removal in order to leave as much clear coat as possible. By polishing the scratches, the sharp edges are rounded off, losing the white contrast, and only visible in very particular lighting.
After polishing the paint with the AIO polish there was a noticeable difference in the gloss and shine. By removing swirls and wash marring in the paint, it allowed the metallic flakes in the black paint to really pop!
